It all started with Pixie dust…
Todd and Diana worked for the same company back in the 80’s and early 90’s. We knew each other but the only thing that really connected us was that we had the same boss. Todd was in management and Diana was the Administrative Assistant to the owners of the company. Todd left the company in 1994. Diana left the company in 1997.
Fast forward 15 years to 2012. Todd and Diana were both going through divorces. Diana was living in a small apartment and working full time. Both of Diana’s parents were in a local nursing home. Her Dad had several strokes and could no longer get out of bed. Her Mom had dementia that was quickly progressing.
Every Sunday, Diana would post on Facebook about how her parents were at her Sunday visits. Todd noticed the posts and started following each week as his mother had passed from complications of dementia as well. After a particularly sad post after Diana’s mom didn’t recognize her for the first time, Todd reached out and offered to meet for a beverage and conversation. Diana pondered the message but thought it might be good to talk to someone who knows what she’s going through.
Little did she know, divine intervention had a plan. They agreed to meet at a local sports bar. Todd was sitting at the bar when Diana walked in. She tapped him on the shoulder and he turned around and gave her a big hug. This is where the Pixie Dust comes in because, well, he had her from the hug!
